Gulaabo is a 3,500-square-foot, bi-level Northern Indian restaurant at 250 W 47th St in the Theater District, created by the team behind the contemporary Indian gastropub Baar Baar. Head Chef Paramjeet Bombra leads a kitchen focused on Punjab-region cooking — street food staples, flavorful curries, and tandoor-cooked kebabs — alongside specialty cocktails built around distinctive spices and spirits. The menu includes vegan options and can be customized for events. The design is enchanting and elegantly feminine, with Indian floral print wallpaper, blush pink painted brick, gold ceilings, green velvet banquettes, and a hand-painted fresco-style mural of an Indian woman by artist Jess Kollar. The ground floor holds the main dining room and a 6-seat stone-topped bar; the second floor is a dedicated dining space with its own bar. For events, Gulaabo works at two scales: the second floor can be booked on its own for intimate dinners and medium-sized receptions, while full buyouts open up both levels for large corporate events and celebrations of up to 200 guests.
